I Can't Even What Do Right Now

I'm not sure if I know how I feel after watching that video about Alana. I understand that people do put their kid's through pageants all the time, and that some people overdo it. But THAT... that is just terrible. I showed my friend the video, and me and her both agree that her mother is and idiot. And the fact that a show of their lives could exist baffles me. Who in their right mind could find that entertaining? The child was annoying, and her mother was annoying AND disgusted me. I mean, she had the nerve to say that Alana's personality was her own. I highly doubt that had her mother NOT shoved pageantry down her throat, she would still act like that. I believe I share Albom's reaction to this. If reality TV is truly making us apathetic, to the point that we don't care that this child probably has no future, and that so many people just watch as an innocent man takes his own life, I believe our future is a bleak one.
